我們被預(yù)言是下一個(gè)超級(jí)大國(guó)了，我們被指是主要威脅。

那時(shí)我們閉關(guān)自守，你走私鴉片來(lái)強(qiáng)開(kāi)門(mén)戶；

我們擁抱自由貿(mào)易了，你責(zé)罵我們搶走你的飯碗。

那時(shí)我們風(fēng)雨飄搖，你鐵蹄犯境要求機(jī)會(huì)均等；

When we are billed to be the next superpower, we are called the threat.

When we closed our doors, you smuggled drugs to open markets.

When we embrace free trade, you blame us for taking away your jobs.

When we were falling apart, you marched in your troops and wanted your fair share.

When we tried to put the broken pieces back together again,

free Tibet you screamed, It was an invasion!

When tried communism, you hated us for being communist.

When we embrace capitalism, you hate us for being capitalist.

When we have a billion people, you said we were destroying the planet.

When we tried limiting our numbers, you said we abused human rights.

When we were poor, you thought we were dogs.

When we loan you cash, you blame us for your national debts.

When we build our industries, you call us polluters.

When we sell you goods, you blame us for global warming.

When we buy oil, you call it exploitation and genocide.

When you go to war for oil, you call it liberation.

“Why do you hate us so much﹖”we asked.

“No,” you answered, “we don't hate you.”

We don't hate you either, but, do you understand us?

What do you really want from us?

Think hard first, then answer, Because you only get so many chances.

Enough is enough, enough hypocrisy for this one world.

We want one world, one dream, and peace on earth.

This big blue earth is big enough for all of us.

林良多（Liang-Duo Lin），字松濤，美國(guó)紐約州立大學(xué)水牛城分校退休華裔物理學(xué)榮譽(yù)教授。1930年出生于浙江瑞安，1948年遷居臺(tái)灣。

50年代先后林良多畢業(yè)于臺(tái)灣大學(xué)和臺(tái)灣清華大學(xué)。后赴美留學(xué)，在美國(guó)俄亥俄州立大學(xué)獲得博士學(xué)位。后任美國(guó)紐約州立大學(xué)物理系教授。

1973年開(kāi)始林良多訪問(wèn)中國(guó)大陸，大陸改革開(kāi)放以來(lái)，林教授長(zhǎng)期在清華大學(xué)、中國(guó)科技大學(xué)、復(fù)旦大學(xué)、浙江大學(xué)等知名高校擔(dān)任客座教授。目前已退休，現(xiàn)居住在加州硅谷地區(qū)。
